City break outfit …What to Wear this Weekend

City break outfit… the low down

I’m in Paris for a couple of days and spent the whole of Black Friday weekend traumatizing about the perfect city break outfit. Yes, that’s right, even though I have a ‘stylist’ badge, I too stress about how to pack for a weekend away, let alone a weekend away in one of the snazziest fashion capitals of the world.

For me the perfect weekend getaway outfit is all about minimalist packing so that you can use that extra packing space for all those goodies you might find on your jaunt. Of course when it comes down to it I always throw in that extra pair of heels for emergency purposes or just one more outfit option. But this time around I’ve tried to be strict and of course sensible…

City break outfit… the details

So in Paris a girl clearly needs ankle skimming jeans to work her inner Audrey Hepburn, and what could suit the bill better than these awesome MiH Paris skinny jeans – perfecto non? These allow you to work the ultimate French insouciant look by pairing them with a striped tee – this one from  Proenza Schouler has just enough slouch to have you thinking of sipping an espresso in a pavement cafe packed with people chain smoking Galloise cigarettes…sorry, I’ve been watching too many old movies of late…

I’m always up for a new take on the omni present biker jacket, so this cool one from Theory fits the bill with it’s slightly 50’s feel.

With all that pounding the pavements on your city break flats are a must, these J.Crew slippers are ideal and look effortlessly cool to boot. To finish up your look you will need a cross-body bag or at least a tote with a shoulder strap to sling over your head as you march from museum to sightseeing spot, or cafe to shop… whatever floats your boat. This Club Monaco animal print bag ticks all the right style boxes. Throw in a scarf, a beanie, some sunnies and a touch of statement bling, and you are off to the races.
