I love the first few chilly days of fall once Labor Day is done and dusted, they make me want to jump straight in to all those autumn trends pronto.
This upcoming season besides the usual smattering of plaids and darker prints, we’ve also got that good old traditional stalwart tweed to look forward to. This time around though, it’s pulling new shapes with pleats and slits and structures that we haven’t seen before, as well as rocking acid brights and leather trims.
To be totally on trend look for tweeds with metallic embellished details, J.Crew and Tory Burch have a couple of cute looks in that department. Also check out shift dresses and skirts with fold over details and nipped in waists for a ladylike vibe with a twist; see the Chloe one below or try Michael Kors here or Proenza Schouler here.
As a complete outerwear addict, my all out favourite way to wear tweed this season has got to be through the medium of the jacket. You can snag amything from a biker to a bomber. Grab one with the aforementioned leather trim and metallic thread detail like this Milly one or this contrast collar and cuff bomber from Rag & Bone.
